SEO Consultant for Strategy & Clear Priorities

Know what to do next.
And why it is worth doing.

I work with founders, marketing leads and in-house teams who need a clear search strategy before committing more time or budget. Hire me to diagnose the problem, challenge a proposal or finalise a plan your team can implement.

Advice can be the whole engagement. Keep your team or agency. Implementation is optional.

Diagnose Prioritise Decide

SEO STRATEGY CONSULTANCY

You may not need another person doing tasks.

You may need someone to decide which tasks matter. A developer wants a technical brief. A content team wants to know which pages to improve. A founder needs to decide whether the next budget goes into SEO, paid search or fixing the enquiry journey.

I bring those questions back to the business, the evidence and the team's capacity. The recommendation might be to fix fewer pages properly, change the sequence of work or stop an activity that is not earning its place.

My working ruleIf I cannot explain why a recommendation matters and how you could assess it, it is not ready to become your priority.

WHEN TO BRING ME IN

One decision. A fresh pair of eyes.
Or support for the team you already have.

Set the direction

Decide what deserves the next investment.

You may already have an audit, a list of keywords and several competing opinions. I help you separate an attractive idea from a priority your business can act on.

Discuss My Priorities
01

Business objective

Define the offer, audience and commercial outcome before choosing activities.

02

Evidence review

Compare demand, existing performance and the friction in the customer journey.

03

Decision

Agree the next move, what to defer and what still needs investigation.

Get a second opinion

Challenge the plan before you commit to it.

I can review a proposal or an existing programme without requiring you to replace the people delivering it. The aim is a better decision, not a longer list of faults.

Discuss My Priorities
01

Assumptions

Check what the recommendation relies on and whether the data supports it.

02

Trade-offs

Consider cost, risk, dependencies and the work your team can absorb.

03

Recommendation

Keep, change or investigate the proposal, with a clear reason for each conclusion.

Guide your team

Keep implementation connected to the strategy.

An internal team can have the skills to deliver but still need independent direction. I help review completed work, resolve questions and adjust priorities as evidence changes.

Discuss My Priorities
01

Ownership

Agree the decision-maker, delivery owners and review boundaries.

02

Review

Evaluate important changes against the brief and their intended result.

03

Next priorities

Update the backlog rather than repeat the same recommendations every month.

WHAT A ROADMAP SHOULD SETTLE

Leave with decisions,
not just a presentation.

I organise the strategy around three practical outputs. The depth depends on the scope, but the purpose stays the same: make the next step clear to the people responsible for it.

01

A diagnosis

What is holding progress back?

The evidence, working assumptions and questions we still need to resolve.

02

A prioritised plan

What happens first?

Recommended actions, owners, dependencies and work to defer.

03

A review plan

How will we judge the change?

A baseline, suitable indicators and a point to revisit the decision.

SEO + AI SEARCH STRATEGY

Make AI part of the decision.
Not a separate list of promises.

I review how customers research the offer across search results and AI answers, then ask what the business needs to make clearer: its services, supporting evidence, important pages or market relevance.

For Google search features, the technical and content foundations still matter. I combine source and page checks with sampled AI observations, rather than assuming a mention in one answer proves a repeatable result.

QUESTIONS I HELP YOU RESOLVE

Can the important pages be found and understood?

Does the content answer the actual buying question?

Is there credible evidence behind the business claims?

What can we measure beyond an isolated AI mention?

THE CONSULTING SCOPE

Go deep where the decision needs it.

Technical direction

Indexing, page templates, site structure and migration priorities, translated into a brief your developers can review.

Separate country, language and service-area decisions before multiplying pages or committing to a new market.

Connected acquisition

Assess how organic search supports the wider journey, including paid activity, conversion and follow-up.

Digital marketing →

Authority & trust

Review whether links, profiles and business evidence support the positioning. Avoid activity chosen only for a tool score.

HOW DAAOMI SHAPES THE STRATEGY

Six stages. From the business question
to the next informed decision.

DAAOMI stands for Discover, Analyze, Audit, Optimize, Monitor and Improve. The name uses the first letter of each stage. In a consulting engagement, I use the cycle to organise the reasoning, the handover and any subsequent review.

  1. Discover

    Agree the decision

Understand the offer, audience, commercial goal and constraints.

  2. Analyze

    Test the opportunity

Compare demand, performance and competing explanations.

  3. Audit

    Find the gaps

Inspect the agreed pages, technical issues and supporting evidence.

  4. Optimize

    Specify the changes

Set priorities and briefs; your team can own implementation.

  5. Monitor

    Review the evidence

Assess the agreed indicators once changes have been made.

  6. Improve

    Adjust the plan

Keep what is working and revise what the evidence challenges.

A standalone roadmap defines the review plan. I join the monitoring and improvement work when follow-up advisory support is included.

WORK DIRECTLY WITH HIMANSHU SWARAJ

Independent advice.
Respect for the team doing the work.

I started in search marketing in 2008 and have worked across service, local, ecommerce and international campaigns. That experience helps me question a recommendation before it becomes another demand on your team.

You speak with me about the business problem and the strategy. I can stay in an advisory role, work alongside your existing agency or discuss a separate implementation scope when it is useful.

See the work behind the advice.

My published case studies show the problems addressed and outcomes recorded in named engagements. Use them to assess the approach, then we can discuss how it applies to your situation.

YOUR MARKET SETS THE CONTEXT

The strategy follows the customer,
not just the country name.

A local service business needs different decisions from a B2B company entering a new country or a retailer serving several languages. I use your actual offer, delivery area, competitors and sales process to define the work.

Consulting is available through scheduled calls with agreed time-zone overlap. Meetings in India can be arranged by appointment.

BEFORE YOU HIRE AN SEO CONSULTANT

Questions about the advice,
the scope and working together.

Can I hire you for SEO strategy without buying implementation?

Yes. You can hire me to assess the situation, settle the priorities and prepare a strategy your own team can deliver. I define the advice and handover in the scope. Development, writing and campaign execution are separate choices, not a condition of working with me.

What does an SEO consultant actually deliver?

For a roadmap engagement, I turn the evidence into a prioritised plan: what to change, why it matters, who needs to act and how we will assess the result. Depending on scope, that can include a technical backlog, page and content priorities, AI search observations and a measurement plan. A focused session covers one agreed decision rather than a full-site audit.

Should I book a strategy session or a full SEO audit?

A session suits a bounded question: whether to consolidate pages, how to evaluate a proposal or what to investigate next. If the cause of a performance problem is unclear, I may recommend deeper analysis before offering an answer. A roadmap needs evidence across the agreed site and markets. I will explain the difference before you book.

Can you work alongside our agency or in-house marketing team?

Yes. I can review the proposed strategy, challenge assumptions and help the team agree what to do next. We establish who approves changes and who implements them so advice does not become a second, conflicting task list. My role can stay advisory, with review calls and written decisions at the agreed cadence.

Does the consulting cover AI search as well as Google rankings?

Yes, where it is relevant to the business. I examine the questions customers ask, the pages and evidence available to answer them, and sampled AI answers or AI search results. Technical access, useful content and a clear business identity remain part of the assessment. The scope can include an AI visibility audit; I do not sell guaranteed citations or a special schema that forces inclusion.

Can you review a traffic drop or a planned website migration?

Yes. For a decline, I compare the timing with available search data, tracking changes, site releases and affected page groups before suggesting a cause. For confirmed manual actions or a deeper recovery investigation, explore Google penalty recovery services. For a migration, I review the proposed URL structure, redirects, indexing controls and validation plan. Technical implementation and post-launch coverage must be explicitly scoped; a consultation is not automatic approval to launch.

How much does SEO consulting cost?

I quote for the decision and the depth of work: a focused session, a defined strategy project or ongoing advisory capacity. Site size, markets, access, stakeholder involvement and the review schedule affect the fee. You receive the deliverables, exclusions and any third-party costs before agreeing. A roadmap is not priced as a bundle of backlinks or articles.

Do we need to sign a long-term retainer?

No. A strategy session or roadmap can be a standalone engagement. Ongoing support is useful when your team wants help reviewing implementation and adjusting priorities. The proposal sets out the review cadence, response expectations and notice terms; there is no assumption that a first conversation commits you to months of work.

How quickly can we get the strategy, and when should results improve?

We agree the delivery date after I understand the scope and data access. The consulting output and the search outcome have different timelines: a plan can be delivered before your team implements it, and search systems need time to respond. I separate delivery milestones from the indicators we will monitor after changes go live.

Can you guarantee rankings or a return on our investment?

I can commit to the agreed work, clear reasoning and review of the evidence. I cannot control competitors, search systems or your implementation capacity. We set measurable objectives and assumptions, then review progress against them. Google also advises against guaranteed number-one rankings.

What access do you need, and how do you handle confidential information?

The first discussion needs your website and the decision you are trying to make. For analysis, I may request read-only access to relevant search and analytics accounts. We agree confidentiality requirements before sharing sensitive material and keep access limited to the work. Do not send passwords or customer records through the enquiry form; your business retains account ownership.

Can you advise a business in a regulated sector?

I can review search strategy and identify where claims, evidence or customer journeys need attention. Your authorised subject specialist or legal adviser approves regulated claims, privacy requirements and market-specific wording. My SEO advice is not legal certification, and I will not recommend publishing claims your business cannot substantiate.

Do you consult for international or multilingual websites?

Yes. I separate the language, country, offer and buying journey before recommending a site structure or content plan. A strategy for the UK need not be the same as one for the US or India. Language review responsibilities are agreed where needed. See international SEO and multilingual SEO and AI search for those workflows.

Can we meet, or is the consultation online?

Scheduled online calls work well for shared screen reviews and teams in different markets. I can also meet clients in India by arrangement, subject to location and availability. We agree the time zone, participants and any travel costs beforehand. The written priorities keep the decisions usable after the meeting.

Who implements the recommendations, and how do we measure success?

Your team, an existing agency or a separately agreed delivery team can implement them. I identify owners and dependencies in the roadmap and can review completed work under an advisory scope. We connect technical and visibility indicators to the business goal, such as relevant enquiries or sales, using the data available. I do not equate a higher tool score with commercial success.

START WITH THE DECISION
