Make your products easier to find and choose.

I help BigCommerce stores connect product and category SEO, Google Shopping feeds and AI search discovery. The work starts with what you sell, who buys it and where the journey breaks between search and checkout.

A CAPABLE PLATFORM. A STORE-SPECIFIC PLAN.

Built-in SEO is the starting point.

BigCommerce’s hosted platform reduces the infrastructure work a merchant has to manage. Its native SEO features provide useful controls, but a populated title field is not the same as a well-positioned product.

I look at how your actual store is assembled: catalogue attributes, category choices, theme output, apps and the path to purchase. A standard storefront and a headless build need different implementation checks.

The aim is to make everyday merchandising easier while improving the information customers and search systems can use.

Connect with the wider ecommerce strategy

FOUR POINTS OF PRODUCT DISCOVERY

Follow the product, not just the ranking.

I trace the connection between catalogue data, the pages it creates, the channels it reaches and the orders it produces.

  1. 01

    Product truth

Specifications, identifiers, variants and stock describe what is actually for sale.

  2. 02

    Store structure

Products and categories have a clear purpose, crawl path and buying context.

  3. 03

    Channel agreement

Feeds, structured data and landing pages carry consistent product information.

  4. 04

    Commercial outcome

Search visibility connects with qualified visits, purchases and useful revenue evidence.

BIGCOMMERCE SEO SERVICES

Fix the templates. Strengthen the pages that matter.

I prioritise work by the size of the issue, its commercial importance and the effort needed to implement it.

Categories + taxonomy

Map buying intent to useful categories and subcategories. Improve navigation, breadcrumbs and links between related ranges without creating thin pages for every keyword variation.

Product pages + metadata

Clarify titles, descriptions, specifications, compatibility and product selection. Write distinct metadata for priority pages, then improve repeatable rules for the wider catalogue.

Variants + crawl control

Review filter combinations, pagination, duplicate destinations, canonicals and sitemaps. Decide which pages deserve search visibility before making blanket indexation changes.

Theme + technical SEO

Check rendered content, page experience, schema output and app conflicts. Give your developer actionable fixes and validate what reaches the live storefront.

Product images + video

Use clear product views, useful alternative text and efficient image delivery. Plan demonstrations around real buying questions, with accurate thumbnails and supporting page content.

Content + internal authority

Connect buying guides, size advice, use cases and comparison content with relevant products. Build useful references rather than leaving the blog separate from the store.

GOOGLE SHOPPING + PRODUCT FEEDS

Give eligible products another route to the customer.

Free listings and paid Shopping serve different roles. I connect the catalogue with Merchant Center, then review the data and store requirements for the channels you intend to use.

01

Connect + prepare

Review the current connector or feed-management setup, including Feedonomics where suitable. Map identifiers, product types, variants, images and target-market fields.

02

Validate + maintain

Check diagnostics and compare the feed with the landing page. Investigate price, stock, shipping and return-information mismatches, including what happens after catalogue updates.

03

Separate free + paid

Free product listings do not charge for their clicks. Paid Shopping and Performance Max require a separate campaign plan and budget, with reporting that distinguishes the two.

Store ownership, connector access and a good feed do not by themselves secure approval or exposure. I check the actual account and product issues.

Review BigCommerce’s Google Shopping integration options or connect the work with Google Ads management.

SEO + AI PRODUCT DISCOVERY

Be useful when the question gets specific.

A shopper comparing cabin bags for a short business trip needs dimensions, capacity and practical trade-offs. Repeating a product keyword does not answer those questions.

I improve the product facts and supporting explanations that make the choice clearer. My AI-assisted workflow helps identify missing attributes and draft improvements; specifications and claims are checked before publication.

Google’s AI search guidance points to the same foundations as SEO, not a special AI schema or guaranteed citation technique.

PRODUCT INFORMATION THAT HELPS A DECISION

Which bag fits my trip, my equipment and the airline limit?

  • Verifiable factsDimensions, weight, materials and what is included.
  • Useful contextWho it suits, what it holds and meaningful alternatives.
  • Current offerVariant, availability, delivery and return details.

Keep the page, product markup and feed aligned. AI recommendations still depend on the system and the customer’s question.

WHO YOUR STORE NEEDS TO REACH

Different catalogues need different search decisions.

I use your trading model and real markets to determine the pages, product details and conversion actions worth prioritising.

Retail + direct-to-consumer

Connect non-brand category demand with product selection, delivery confidence and checkout. Prioritise ranges with stock, a clear offer and a credible reason to buy.

B2B + wholesale

Make part numbers, compatibility, pack quantities and quote routes understandable. Keep private pricing or account-only information separate from pages intended for public discovery.

International + multi-storefront

Account for language, currency, sizing conventions and delivery promises. A US catalogue and a UK or Australian storefront should reflect the markets they genuinely serve.

Discuss international SEO

MEASUREMENT + MERCHANT TRUST

More indexed products is not the final result.

I connect Search Console, Merchant Center and available ecommerce analytics with product and category performance. We review purchases, conversion rate and revenue alongside returns or margin information where your reporting supports it.

Structured data should reflect the visible offer, not manufacture reviews or availability. I check existing theme and app output before adding anything that could duplicate or contradict it.

Review ecommerce measurement

Measure the right order

Inspect purchase events, transaction identifiers, values and duplicated tracking.

Make the offer trustworthy

Align business details, shipping, returns and product claims with the real customer experience.

Validate the data

Check product structured data and feed consistency against the actual page.

DAAOMI FOR BIGCOMMERCE

Six stages. One connected catalogue strategy.

DAAOMI stands for Discover, Analyze, Audit, Optimize, Monitor and Improve. I use this sequence to decide what deserves attention before scaling changes across a store.

01Discover

Understand the range, customers, markets, margins and the commercial priorities of your store.

02Analyze

Compare category demand, competitor offers and the performance of products already receiving visits.

03Audit

Inspect templates, crawl paths, product facts, feeds, structured data and purchase measurement.

04Optimize

Implement agreed category, product and feed improvements, with a reviewed sample before wider rollout.

05Monitor

Check indexation, diagnostics, search demand and order evidence after changes go live.

06Improve

Refine weak points and expand the changes that prove useful across the next product group.

Start with one priority range. We can establish the right approach before applying it to the wider catalogue.

BIGCOMMERCE CLIENT QUESTIONS

Before changing the catalogue or choosing a consultant.

Practical answers about products, feeds, AI, migrations and working together.

Ask About My Store
Is BigCommerce good for SEO, or do I need to change platforms?

BigCommerce provides useful SEO controls, but the platform alone does not decide how well a store performs. I first review your catalogue, theme, indexing, category structure and product information. Many problems can be addressed within the existing store. I recommend a platform change only when the evidence shows a business or technical reason, not as a default SEO fix.

What does your BigCommerce SEO service include?

I agree the scope around your store and team. It can include technical assessment, keyword and category mapping, product-page improvements, metadata, internal linking, structured-data checks, feed optimisation and measurement. You can hire me for a focused audit, ongoing delivery or independent SEO consulting. The proposal names the deliverables and who implements each change.

Can you optimise thousands of products without rewriting every page?

Yes. I group products by template, category, commercial value and recurring issue. Template corrections and attribute improvements can address many URLs at once, while priority categories and products receive individual attention. We agree a sample for review before rolling changes out. I do not treat every SKU as equally valuable or publish unchecked descriptions across the catalogue.

Can BigCommerce products appear in Google Shopping for free?

Eligible products can appear through Google free listings without paying for clicks on those listings. I review Merchant Center setup, the feed connection, product diagnostics and the store information buyers need. Listing eligibility and actual exposure are separate. Google Shopping management covers the feed and account work; paid campaigns require a separate advertising budget.

Do I need Feedonomics or a new feed app?

Not automatically. I inspect your existing connection, catalogue size, update frequency, target countries and transformation needs. A supported connector may be enough for a straightforward store; a more complex catalogue may benefit from feed-management tools such as Feedonomics. I explain the trade-offs before recommending a subscription. Software fees and custom integration are agreed separately.

How do you handle product variants, filters and duplicate URLs?

I check which URLs exist, which are indexable and how canonical tags, internal links and sitemaps relate to them. Useful category demand should have a deliberate landing page. Filter combinations should not create an uncontrolled set of near-identical pages. For variants, I check that the chosen option, image, price, availability and feed destination agree.

Can you improve visibility in AI shopping results and AI answers?

I work on the information that makes products easier to understand and compare: clear specifications, intended use, compatibility, supporting content and consistent catalogue data. These improvements complement AI search optimisation and conventional SEO. I track available referral and search evidence without presenting a few AI screenshots as a stable ranking report. Recommendations vary by system, query and market.

Will you use AI to write descriptions or create product images?

Where it helps, I use AI to organise product attributes, identify missing information and draft content for review. Your team remains the source for specifications, claims and brand approval. Product images must represent what is actually sold; edits must not invent features, accessories or results. I check the intended channel requirements before using synthetic imagery in a product feed.

Can you work with a headless store or several BigCommerce storefronts?

Yes, with the implementation scoped to the actual stack. I review rendered content, routing, metadata, canonical URLs, structured data and measurement with your developer. For separate markets, I also check language, currency, delivery and country targeting. International SEO and multilingual SEO become part of the plan when those are real customer requirements.

Can you help after a migration or sudden organic traffic drop?

Yes. I compare the change timeline with landing-page, query and order data, then inspect redirects, indexability, templates and tracking. A migration needs URL mapping and post-launch checks, not just a new sitemap. I distinguish a measurement fault from a genuine visibility decline before choosing the recovery work.

What about consent, product claims and Merchant Center disapprovals?

I check whether product pages, feeds and policy information agree, and help investigate the stated reason for a disapproval. Shipping, returns, pricing and business details need to reflect the real offer. Tracking consent and regulated-product claims require the appropriate review for your markets. I work with your responsible team or adviser; Google makes its own approval decisions.

How much does it cost, how long does it take, and who owns the work?

Pricing depends on catalogue complexity, storefronts, implementation and the agreed monthly workload. I set milestones for assessment, changes and review before work begins. Technical fixes may be verifiable quickly, while search and sales impact needs time and enough evidence. Your business keeps its accounts and assets. I report progress through agreed actions and reliable ecommerce measurement, not rankings alone.
