SEO TOOLKIT · PRACTICAL CHECK
Domain Age Checker
Look up public domain registration dates and registry details through RDAP. Use the timeline as background information, not as an SEO score.
Check a domain registration record
Use the result to choose the next useful fix.
Himanshu’s approach is straightforward: understand what the tool shows, then connect it to the page, customer journey and search opportunity in front of you.
Read the domain registration timeline in context
A domain registration record can help confirm when a name was created, when the registry record changed and when the current registration period may expire. It does not show when a website first published, who previously owned it or whether its content has earned search visibility.
What the checker reviews
The lookup uses Registration Data Access Protocol (RDAP) data published by domain registries. Where available, it reports the registration date, approximate domain age, expiry date, registrar, status and authoritative nameservers. Registry data varies by top-level domain, so some fields may be unavailable.
Use domain age as a fact, not a score
An older registration date is not a substitute for useful content, crawlable pages, relevant authority or a sound customer experience. Use this result to understand the domain record, then investigate the website and its search signals separately.
For related checks, review the DNS Lookup, SSL Lookup or Meta Tags Checker.
Questions about domain age
Is domain age a Google ranking factor?
A registration date should not be treated as a ranking score. Search performance depends on the usefulness, accessibility, relevance and authority of the website rather than age alone.
Is domain age the same as website age?
No. A domain can exist before a website launches, change ownership or remain unused for years. RDAP describes the registration record, not the complete publishing history.
Why is a registration or expiry date missing?
RDAP responses vary by registry and privacy policy. Some registries omit fields, use different event labels or do not provide a complete public timeline.
What is RDAP?
RDAP is the structured web protocol used by registries to publish domain registration data. It provides machine-readable responses and is replacing many traditional WHOIS use cases.
Can this checker identify the domain owner?
Not reliably. Privacy services, data-protection rules and registry policies often limit public registrant information. This tool deliberately reports only bounded operational fields.
Does an expired date mean the domain is immediately available?
No. Domains can enter renewal, redemption or pending-delete stages, and registry processes vary. Confirm availability through an accredited registrar before making a decision.
